Here you can find RC car ball bearings, sorted by size and manufacturer.
The ball bearings in any RC car are some of the most important components. These need to be checked frequently to make sure everything is spinning freely, and replaced if faulty bearings are found.
Short theory of different bearings:
- Rubber sealed (RS) bearings are designed for locations where you need a good protection against moisture, dust, mud etc. for example wheel hubs. Rubber shielded bearings have little more rotation resistance because of the rubber seal is there to seal the bearing.
- Rubber / metal (RZ) bearings are a compromise for example to locations where the other side is inside the gearbox and otherside is towards the outside where proper sealing is needed.
- Metal shielded (ZZ) bearings have lower rotation resistance than rubber sealed ones but they do not have as good protection against dust, moist and mud. ZZ bearings are used inside gearboxes and motors where there is no need for dust or moist protection. ZZ bearings also can handle heat better than rubber shielded. Popular option in on-road cars like electric touring cars.
- Unshielded bearings are used in locations where there is constant lubrication such as ic engines where there is flowing lubrication all the time.
Rubber Shielded RS bearings are good choice for wheel hubs and gearboxes and areas that need splash-proofing. Metal Shielded ZZ bearings are best used where there is no need for dust protection or when heat resistance is needed.
