Another super important part of any RC car, the servo is responsible for steering the car, and on a nitro cars, a second servo also controls throttle and braking action. As with any component, there are different levels and specifications of servos available. What is important, especially for a steering servo, is that the servo has enough power for the car it is placed in.

The surface a car is run on, the size and weight of car and tyres, as well as the speed of a car, are all factors that affect how much speed and torque you need from a servo. The size of a servo and its gears, as well as the materials used, will affect the reliability of a servo, just like the quality of components used will.
